Scar to Star

One of the human limitations is the wisdom to know what will happen in the next second, minute, hour or day. We wake up braced for the new day, with a positive mind and a positive attitude we enrich our faith to know that all well go well with us. We move forward with enthusiasm and a smile to make the best of the opportunities. When everything works well for us, little do we reflect about other people, little do we reflect what might just happen to us in the next minute
On Tuesday, 30th of November 2010, I was involved in an accident in Nairobi. The van (Commonly known as Matatu in Kenya) I was traveling in was trying to avoid the jam that was building up in one of the streets when it collided head on with a personal car. Nobody was seriously injured. The incidence kept on recurring in my mind like a movie, for a moment I thought how fragile human life is, how strangers we are in this world and we are only here but for a moment
What struck me most is not the near death that I encountered, but for a moment I thought how most of us, born and brought up so physically fit can turn out to be crippled and dependent on someone else. How in a split of a second your life can turn out from a nice looking physically fit person unto one who will forever live on a wheelchair, this took me a back, do I ever noticed the handicapped in our societies? When I meet them what occurs in my mind?
They say “what makes someone great is not what he or she has done or accomplished externally, but rather what motivates them from within!’ consider then how great these people are in our societies; the lame, the blind and all those who are physically disadvantaged. They put on such a big bright smile in their face, they live life as usual and they are optimistic and positive. Which great person can outweigh the humble greatness of our fellow brothers and sisters who are physically disadvantaged?
Most of our brothers and sisters who are physically disadvantaged are the world most known motivational speakers, generous and pious people. They have gotten an inborn courage and confidence to turn theirs scars to stars. They reach out to uplift those who are physically fit. They have overcome their challenges and are grateful to God for a unique chance they have. Wow! What then do you mean by success if this is not success?
All of us have a challenge to take up, Are you low esteemed, rejected, molested, victimized, prisoner, raped, handicapped and so forth. Think of the many in our societies more so the vulnerable who have turned their scars to stars. Then make a choice
The successful path is about turning your scars to stars
