An Introduction to The Successful Path
December 30th 2006 03:31
Hello everybody,
My name is George and this is my new blog entitled thesuccessfulpath.net This is a place for people to grow on a personal, professional, and spiritual level. My vision is to empower others with my experience, wisdom, and intuition, and put them on their successful path. I hope to do this through the written word of this blog.
The successful path is whatever path has passion. There is a Zen story where the student asks the master, “How do I know if the path is a good path?” The master answers, “If the path has heart, then it is a good path.” We must ask ourselves the same question, “does our current path have heart or passion?” If it does not, then we must find what moves us and motivates us. We need to feel excited about our lives and what we do. Many times in our lives we live as if in a vacuum without ever really living. In order for us to feel “successful” we must do what it is that makes us happy, and this is going to be different for each and every one of us.
For some, this will be strictly monetary, for another it will be our relationships, or our health. However we define “successful” is right for us. And there is nothing wrong with working on all these areas at the same time, because to be successful, we also have to be balanced. We cannot hope to be successful and only be working in one area of our life. What good would it be to make millions of dollars, only to have our health fail us? In the same vain what good is it to have achieved a lofty position in life, with many fine luxuries without a loving relationship with whom to share it? Balance is key in our definition of success.
Now while I have plenty of experience in working with people and have my own goals and success, my hope is that I too will be able to gain some wisdom and insights from you the reader. So please feel free to post replies and interact with me and ask questions. This is a place for all of us to develop together. I will pass on from time to time my thoughts, feelings, and perspective on things and will also post exercises and topics on how to become more successful in whatever it is our hearts desire. I will use techniques from my background in coaching and therapy and from life in general. I am also a big believer in the power of positive thinking and in setting goals and moving towards achieving them. Some of the areas that will be discussed will be personal, professional, financial, spiritual, relationships, family, community, physical well-being, recreation, time-management, self-esteem, and many others.
Since the New Year is upon us, what better time than to start working on those goals for 2007? My next entry will show you how to set your goals for the entire year, and explain why goals are more effective than resolutions. Are you ready to change your life? I hope to meet many of you on line and get to know you better through our mutual interest in becoming successful in our lives. Feel free to drop me a line or a thought or just to introduce yourself and say hello.
In Success and Gratitude,
George
