ACCUSE THE EXCUSE

He who excuses himself accuses himself
I like it when Lord Byron says “Your letter of excuses has arrived. I receive the letter but do not admit the excuses except in courtesy, as when a man treads on your toes and begs your pardon - the pardon is granted, but the joint aches, especially if there is a corn upon it”.
Excuses are all nails that are used to build a house of failure and no one can achieve success by excusing. Sample some of this;
You have just failed to meet the deadline for a certain project, you put an excuse of how busy you have been with preparing reports but in essence you have of late been spending 75% of your time in social media
The close of the year is here, we look back to the resolutions we made back in the beginning of the year, great they were but unfortunately none of them has been achieve, the excuse; the year has gone so fast yet you were just lazy to change to the better
The marriage is in a crisis, the family is at a verge of separation or divorce because of infidelity. Yes, you put up an excuse that you just slipped yet in reality you are not courageous enough to face up the glaring recognition that you are weak in self control
This morning, you were late to work and the excuse was the traffic yet you just overslept! And by the way that dinner date that you made it to the venue 30 minutes late with an excuse that you were caught up in the office yet you were on internet chatting
It has been had to keep on praying, it’s not that you are struggling with prayer (of which if it were the case you would be gaining more graces from God) but it’s hard to pray, so you say, today I am tired I will pray tomorrow so you tell yourself . Why do you excuse the laziness?
Lastly and the very painful excuse, when you have failed to own up your promises!
Resolve to make good and not making excuses. Work your way out to success by working smart and not giving smart excuses
And by the way have ever given an apology and then tried to excuse yourself for what you did, it ruins your apology, does it not? Thus do not ruin your life with excuses
Remember, the person who really wants to do something finds a way; the other person finds an excuse
